TPV Knitting Composite Hose Extrusion Line Testing for French Customer

BAOD EXTRUSION recently conducted a trial of TPV Knitting Composite Hose Extrusion Line for a prominent French automotive fluid pipeline manufacturer.

As electric vehicles (EVs) gain popularity amidst advancements in automotive technology and heightened environmental awareness, the materials used for manufacturing automotive fluid pipelines—metal, rubber, and nylon plastic—are evolving.

The electric cooling system is pivotal for EVs, predominantly relying on liquid cooling. Fluid pipelines for coolant must meet stringent criteria such as hydrolysis resistance, high temperature tolerance, and lightweight design.

In recent years, Thermoplastic Vulcanisate(TPV) has emerged as a versatile material combining the elasticity of rubber with the processability of plastic. Its application in EV fluid pipelines has expanded significantly due to its lightweight properties, ease of manufacturing, and impact resistance.

BAOD has introduced the TPV Knitting Composite Hose Extrusion Line tailored specifically for EVs. This innovative production line features a construction comprising TPV inner and outer layers with an intermediate knitted reinforcement layer made from polyester or aramid fibers. This design enhances compressive strength and safety, critical for automotive applications.

The manufacturing process involves precise extrusion of the TPV inner hose layer, application of a customized knitted fiber reinforcement layer, and infrared heating to achieve seamless bonding of all layers. Rigorous testing by multiple institutions, both domestically and internationally, has validated that these products meet the rigorous requirements for managing fluids in EVs.

BAOD's development of the TPV Knitting Composite Hose Extrusion Line not only addresses production bottlenecks in the auto parts industry but also establishes a leadership position in supplying advanced materials for EVs. This initiative underscores China's progress in manufacturing innovation and strengthens industry competitiveness.

Looking ahead, BAOD plans to continue exploring new materials and structural configurations for fluid pipelines, contributing further to the evolution and refinement of EV technology.
